03:23 pm - Woah, it's 2005!
Haven't posted for a while - I've been workng full-time, revising and I've had both the flu and a viral infection straight after each other. Christmas for me was spent in bed fighting off the flu. Fun!
Spent all New Year's day in bed recovering from staying up til 5 on New Year's eve. Shouldn't do that so much - I just die the next day of sleep-deprivation lol. Spent some of the night mopping up vomit (I'm one of the least squeamish out of all of my friends so it didn't bother me so much) and doling out advice on what to do with Bretty who was worryingly incoherent, pale and drunk. We nearly had to take him to A&E, but he was alright in the end...
My new shoes that I ordered have arrived - Converse Hi Tops in Pine Green, and they are going to be covered in glitter (again, the last lot came off so I'm going to use something that stays on longer) They are all of teh fab. I also bought a sequinned flower corsage from Gap in the sales, and a bag from Afflecks for college that has Zombie Bunny (Roman Dirge) when I went to Manchester the other day with my mate Hannah. We did the impossible - got to Manc for free on the train!! Got on to such a packed train that the conductor didn't even bother trying to look at tickets. Usually this poses a problem as the people at the train station check your tickets before letting you out - but they weren't working!! Spiffy - more money to spend in Tampopo on lunch.
So... Happy New Year everyone, even if it is a day late... Current Mood: Not in much of a mood... Current Music: None

05:23 pm - It's a matter of trust...
Just got back from MedLink last night and am knackered. Lectures from 9am til 10pm with food breaks in between... gory pics and talks on being a doctor. Got to watch live surgery and be absolutely surrounded by irritating, filthy rich southerners... I was one of about 20 northerners. Out of 3000. Erk. Got w@nkered on Sunday night as we bought a bottle of vodka from a pub (1.5l) and drank it in 1 night (5 of us) then got to watch live surgery as my stomach was going "I cannot believe you drank that much....eeerrrkkk" Fun!! Then went to see Blink182 (for free) on Monday night.
Am pissed off (again) so ( rant )
Christmas pressies I got today, from -
Jenny - brown bag and "smelly Charlie" soap. I already have a humungus stash of Lush soap to get thru :(
Hannah - pretty bracelety thingie
Chick - Starbucks mug, "Lenore 'Wedgies'", "Squee" and "The Gashlycrumb Tinies"

11:22 pm - Oh what a night...
Woo! That was fun.
Just been out for a meal with my friendies. Celebrating Stephsteph's birthday (17 next week). But, because we all wanted to drink with our meal (and no-one would listen to me when I said you could drink with a meal from 16 onwards) we bought banners saying "Happy 18th Birthday". Then got worried as a party with a real 18 yearold birthday boy turned up and everyone thought we'd get caught. Pfeh. It's legal anyway silly muffins. Fun tho! Drinks bill came to £55 and the total was £145! Steph booked tho and put a deposit of £50 down so that made it £95 and so about £11 each and we left the rest. Lovely Chinese meal and lots of prawn crackers. I had Chicken with beansprouts and mushrooms (with egg fried rice) a vodka and coke and a dry white wine. Yum! Then phoned mum to get a lift home. She had to drive all the way to Stockton Heath tho so me 'n Hannah walked to Morrisons and made a phonecall to her dad in the Saracen's Head (a pub if you were wondering). Nice pub actually, and near enough to our college that we can go for a drinkie, but far enough that they won't suspect we're college people. Cunning!
If you were wondering what I got in my test... A 'C'!! Not. Impressed. I revised and everything! Bah.
I'm going on MedLink next week. FunFun. Its a conference at Nottingham Uni for wannabe Medics. We get to do fun activities, practise interviews, watch surgery and play with stethascopes. Oh! And go out in Nottingham every night. Nice one.
I have the worst cold ever. Not fair as I was ill t'other week. I've got some really rank cough medicine that tastes like licorice. Yuk. But it works.
I wore my boots. The heel hasn't fallen off. Yet...
I'm off to bed soon. I have work tomorrow (yay!). Au revoo m'dears... Current Mood: Ok, not that sick... Current Music: None. Mum made me turn it off...

07:05 pm - We wish you a merry xmas???
It's only the 1st of December kiddies!! Yes. We have just had carol singers. Daft brother opened the door to the tune of "We wish you a Merry Xmas" then walked away?!? I told him to shut the door and was about to say "And tell them it's only the 1st of December for fucks sake!" but he just shuts the door in their faces. Which they found amusing so they sung at the window for a few minutes before toddling off to accost more innocent people...
Also, why does everyone feel the need to drain the national grid by sticking rather naff lights on the outside of their house?? I'm not talking about fairy lights, but massive ones in the shape of reindeer, father christmas or gigantic stars?? Waste energy why don't you? It's barely Advent anyway...
On a lighter note - I got the job!!!!! Woo! It's working at the pub over the road; glass collecting, waiting on and potwashing. I start on Saturday! Yayness.
Did you know... if you drink antifreeze, the enzymes in your liver process it in the same way as alcohol. But, a byproduct is formed that is poisonous. So. You have to get Absolutely. Ratarsed. To flood your system with alcohol and reduce then chanc eof an enzyme finding a bit of antifreeze. If you go down to A&E and say "I've drunk antifreeze" they give you whiskey! Wahey!
I actually revised for a test last night (I never usually) because it was the retest for one I (and several others) failed. My excuse (and it is valid) was that I was late and so didn't finish. What I did do was 'B' quality. I think I may have passed the second one, *fingers crossed* but I thought that after the other retest I did on a different unit. I got a lower grade on that one... Bastards.
What else?? I may be losing my voice :( I'm all croaky - I'm a frog.
Oh! And I knew there was a lad who liked Placebo in my year, but I didn't know how much of a fan he was... he was wearing the "Warning, Fire kills children" top. Aceness. I want that top...
Am off to revise (again - the shock!) for a french mock speaking exam. Joy! Current Mood: Need sleep.... Current Music: Placebo - This Picture

03:51 pm - Mood drastically improved with...
Tiramisu!
D'ya reckon that makes it a 'mood altering drug' and therefore a banned substance? Can you imagine the outrage if tiramisu was made a class A drug? Can you imagine being picked up for buying it from a shady man on a street corner before running off to consume then being caught with an incriminating spoon?
Maybe it's just me then.
Current Mood: High on coffee/fat/sugar. Current Music: Gwen Stefani - What you waiting for?
